This project involved carrying out a programme of roof replacement and repair works across multiple buildings on site to address widespread deterioration, water ingress issues, and ageing roofing systems.

Works included the complete replacement of a collapsed roof located between the Venue and the shop, where irreparable membrane failure had resulted in significant water ingress. The existing felt covering and damaged boards were removed and replaced with new boarding and a high-performance EPDM roofing system.

A new flat roof was also installed to the Cambridge accommodation block. Works included removal of the existing felt covering, replacement of damaged timber where required, installation of a new two-layer torch-on felt system, and resealing of failing leadwork to improve weatherproofing performance.

Further replacement works were undertaken to the maintenance workshop and office building, where the existing roof had deteriorated beyond repair. Existing roof boards were removed and replaced, followed by the installation of a new EPDM rubber membrane.

Additional remedial works were carried out to the swimming pool maintenance roof, including the removal of redundant shingles, moss, and vegetation growth to reduce loading on the roof structure. Areas affected by water ingress were then dried and treated with a lightweight liquid rubber waterproofing system.

Roof maintenance works were also completed to Grosvenor Hall, including the removal of moss and debris build-up from the roof and gutters to improve drainage performance and support the long-term maintenance of the building.

The completed project improved the condition, performance, and longevity of several key buildings across the site, providing long-term weatherproofing protection and reducing the risk of future water ingress.
